Abstract

Dr. Janusz Wróbel, the author of a new book, Polonia chicagowska w dobie "Solidarności" 1980-89 (Łódź: Instytut Pamięci Narodowej, 2012; HB, 495 pp., ISBN 9788363695057) served from 1975 to 1994 in the Institute of History of Łódź, where he obtained his doctorate in 1983. His doctoral dissertation on migrations of peoples in the Łódź region during World War II received an award from the Ministry of National Education. Since 2001, he has worked in the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej. His research dealing with Poles who found themselves outside Poland during World War II.
