In the introduction to the section on “Global Histories” on the church's website, it states: “While most Latter-day Saints understand that the Church is a global faith, the history of the Church in many parts of the world is not well known. These Global Histories seek to share the inspiring story of how the message of the Restoration has been embraced and shared around the globe.”1 Collecting the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the world and then sharing that history is an important mission of the Church History Department. This is being accomplished by the establishment of Records Preservation Centers (RPC) throughout the world, the service of local church history advisers, and the service of church history missionaries.
