PAULA CASAL is a professor at the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies and at Pompeu Fabra University’s Law Department. She has previously worked at Oxford, Keele, Harvard, Louvain-la-Neuve, and Stanford universities. She is an associate editor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics, codirector of the UPF Center for Animal Ethics, and president of the Great Ape Project-Spain. Her work has appeared in many journals, including Ethics, Economics and Philosophy; Hypatia; the Journal of Medical Ethics; the Journal of Moral Philosophy; the Journal of Political Philosophy; Political Studies; and Utilitas. He has previously worked at Oxford, New York, La Trobe, and Monash universities.
