Making Certainty and Dwelling through Craft

Magdalena Buchczyk is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow based at the Centre for Anthropological Research on Museums and Heritage at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Her research focuses on the intersections of material culture, heritage, and craft. She has conducted anthropological research on museum collections, learning, and craftsmanship in Romania and the UK, and more recently has explored, historically and ethnographically, a collection of everyday objects at the Museum of European Cultures in Berlin. She has co-curated exhibitions at the Horniman Museum, Constance Howard Gallery in Goldsmiths College, and Hamilton House in Bristol.
