Whiteness as Improvisation, Nonwhiteness as Machine
RITWIK BANERJI is an ethnographer, interactive media artist, and saxophonist. Having completed his doctorate in music at the University of California, Berkeley in 2018, he has since been teaching film and media studies, ethnographic methods, and the social psychology of music at the University of Cincinnati. His other writings appear in Proceedings of the International Computer Music Conference, Proceedings of the 1st International Workshop on Musical Metacreation, the Oxford Handbook of the Phenomenology of Music Cultures, and New Directions in Human-Computer Interaction.
