TOMMASO CAIAZZA is a doctoral candidate in Social History at the University Ca’ Foscari of Venice (Italy) and a former visiting student researcher at the University of California, Berkeley. His dissertation is about the social construction of Italian Americans’ “whiteness” in the context of San Francisco during the Progressive Era.
