Robert R. Clewis is full professor of philosophy at Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania. In 2019–20, he was on a research leave in Europe. When COVID hit Lombardy, he and his family decided to stay a second year (2020–21) in Brescia, where his wife is from. He taught remotely at his university while they all lived there and their three bilingual children attended school in Brescia. His contribution to Italian Americana arose from his reflections on Italian society while playing American football (not calcio!) for the city's club team, the Bengals. Robert is back in greater Philadelphia, where he teaches courses on modern philosophy, aesthetics, and logic. He no longer plays tackle football. Website: robertrclewis.com
