The 1948 Letters to Italy Campaign: International Politics, Local Politics and the Catholic Church in Connecticut
Dr. Carl Antonucci is director of library services, Elihu Burritt Library, Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut. He has a doctorate in history from Providence College and has a master’s in library science from Simmons College. Dr. Antonucci’s dissertation is on machine politics and urban renewal in Providence, Rhode Island, during the era of Mayor Joseph Doorley. His other areas of interests include Italian American studies. He and Professor Kenneth DiMaggio have also written “To Fight for Italy, to Fight for America: For Italians in Connecticut, It Was a Fight for Liberty” published in the Spring 2017 issue of the Connecticut History Review. Dr. Antonucci also is the co-editor of The LITA Leadership Guide The Librarian as Entrepreneur, Leader and Technologist, published by Rowman & Littlefield in 2017.
