Thousands of Connecticut middle- and high-school students explored topics in state, American, and world history related to the 2022 National History Day Annual Theme, Debate & Diplomacy: Successes, Failures, Consequences. A spring COVID-19 surge kept Connecticut History Day (CHD) contests virtual another year, but it did not deter CHD participants from exploring a rich variety of topics and conducting exemplary research to create outstanding projects. Students presented their work as papers, websites, documentaries, performances, or exhibits.

Over a thousand students shared their completed projects at one of the six Regional Contests in Connecticut. Teams of volunteer judges from the state, as well as further afield, reviewed projects to choose the top finishers and provide detailed feedback to all participating students.
