Women's History Month and International Women's Day offers a special opportunity to reflect on the distinctive stories of women in Connecticut. Their contributions to life and culture from the colonial period to the American Revolution to the present day have shaped Connecticut's identity. Connecticut's public history and museum collections contain many unique stories about the influential women in the state. In the last two years, webinars and virtual software such as Zoom have assisted in communicating these remarkable stories of public history to a wider audience. Two public lectures on March 10, 2022, related to public history and museum exhibits, enlightened and illuminated the role of Connecticut women in society and culture.
