A Note on John Wesley's Visit to Herrnhut in 1738

KAI DOSE is an ordained minister (retired) of the Evangelische Kirche im Rheinland/Germany and has been a lecturer (Dozent) for many years at the Predigerseminar of the Church in Bad Kreuznach. In 2008 he published within the new critical edition of the works of Count Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf (ed. Dietrich Meyer) the ‘Lehrbüchelgen’ 1740, 1742 (or ‘Manual of Doctrine’). He has contributed several articles to UNITAS FRATRUM (Zeitschrift für Geschichte und Gegenwartsfragen der Brüdergemeine). From 1976 until 2013 he was chairperson of the German Moravian Historical Society. Forthcoming is volume 7/1 with Count Zinzendorf's first translations of portions of the Bible (1727 until 1737), which will be followed by his translations of the New Testament (1739 and 1744–6) and his later translations of biblical books (1747–60).
