Depressed Spirits and Failed Crisis Management: Charlotte Yonge’s Sensationalisation of the Religious Family
Tamara S. Wagner is assistant professor at Nanyang Technological University. She is the author of Longing: Narratives of Nostalgia in the British Novel, 1740-1890 and Occidentalism in Novels of Malaysia and Singapore, 1819-2004. Wagner’s current projects include a book-length study of financial speculation in Victorian literature, entitled Speculation in Victorian Fiction: Plotting Money and the Novel Genre, 1815-1901, a special issue on silver-fork fiction for Women’s Writing, and a collection of essays on Victorian antifeminism.
