Cheri L. Larsen Hoeckley is Professor of English and Gender Studies at Westmont College. She is the editor of Anna Jameson’s Shake-speare’s Heroines. Her work has appeared in Literature Compass, Victorian Poetry, and Religion and Literature. She is currently researching variations in Victorian terminology for Englishwomen living abroad—from “redundant woman” to “migrant” to “expatriate.”
