Jessica Ann Hughes is Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Wheaton College. She received her PhD from the University of Notre Dame, where her research explored how characterizations of Jesus disrupt Victorian realism, crystalizing tensions between descriptive accuracy and the experience of human relationships within the novel.
