Mark S. Jendrysik is a professor and the chair of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota. His current research interests are focused on recent American political and cultural discourse. He and Edward Bellamy are both natives of Chicopee, Massachusetts. He is the author of Explaining the English Revolution: Hobbes and His Contemporaries (Lexington Books, 2002) and Modern Jeremiahs: Contemporary Visions of American Decline (Rowman and Littlefield, 2008). His article “Tom Paine: Utopian?” was published in Utopian Studies in 2007.
