Prime Time: Visual Cognition in the Prelude to Citizen Kane

tony e. jackson is a professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he teaches literature, film, and narrative theory. Along with his monograph, The Technology of the Novel: Writing and Narrative in British Fiction (Johns Hopkins UP, 2009), he has published papers in academic periodicals such as: Poetics Today, Modern Fiction Studies, Narrative, Mosaic, Journal of Modern Literature, Contemporary Literature, SubStance, Clio, Twentieth-Century Literature, and Philosophy and Literature. He is currently working on a book-length project that brings together film, narrative theory, social neuroscience, and cognitive psychology.
