This article resolves the Πίστις Χριστοῦ debate in favor of the “faith in Christ” interpretation, first by drawing from Rom 4:5 the necessary evidence to link πιστεύω with Paul’s use of πίστις in the πίστις Χριστοῦ phrases and second by demonstrating that πίστις is polysemous with respect to its meanings “faith” and “faithfulness.”
