Some of the most fascinating recent developments have to do with the emerging field of space ethics. The following keywords represent a selection of the issues that need to be considered in this respect: asteroid mining, settlement of other planets, outer space tourism, medical research on the International Space station, Space warfare, geoengineering and terraforming of other planets, environmental protection of other planets, space law, and extraterrestrial real estate. They all fall into the realm of topics that are being covered by the wide range of posthuman philosophies. To promote the academic discussion of these issues further, I invited Martine Rothblatt to contribute a visionary feature article on this challenging new field of studies.
