Abstract

It is customary to publish essays emerging from the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association Conference Forum in a special issue of Pacific Coast Philology. Coauthors Kealani Cook, Gemma Cubero del Barrio, Florence “Johnny” Frisbie, and Stanley Orr observe this tradition through a series of collaborative discussions. Inspired by Epeli Hau‘ofa’s 1994 essay “Our Sea of Islands,” these conversations address the intersections of perspective and voyaging within the context of Pacific Islands history, literature, and culture.
