This collection of twenty articles on the topic of Pietism and “economy” originated from an inspiring conference on Pietism and Economy held in Mainz in November of 2012. All the authors in this anthology presented papers at the conference, and the volume demonstrates not only the impressive zeal of the editors to keep this on the boiler for almost a decade but also the fruitfulness of the field and the wide interest of the subject matter. The anthology consists of fifteen articles in German and five in English, divided into three overarching groups: “Reflexionen religiös-ökonomischer Zusammenhänge” (Reflections on religious-economic connections) contains six articles; “Praktiken des Wirtschaftens” (Practices of business/economy) contains nine articles, and finally “Kulturelle und religiose ‘Ökonomien’” (Cultural and religious “economies”) finishes off the collection with five articles.
