ABSTRACT

In 1840 the Moravian Church purchased a set of thirteen volumes of historical records relating to the ancient Unity of Brethren. This article discusses the content and origins of these so-called Lissa Folios and describes efforts made to translate them into German and their use in the historiography of the Unity of Brethren. In 1945 the Lissa Folios were brought to Prague and are today preserved under the best archival practices at the Czech State Archives.
