Methodist History is the official historical journal of The United Methodist Church and is published by the General Commission on Archives and History of The United Methodist Church. Since 1962, the year of its inception, it has published articles, book reviews, pictures and illustrations, news and other information about the history of the Wesleyan and Methodist heritage.


About the General Commission on Archives and History of The United Methodist Church
By preserving and promoting the past, the General Commission on Archives and History helps the UMC engage the present and envision the future. GCAH serves as the denomination’s storytellers and history detectives. As the keepers of the church’s records, GCAH provides historical context and insight to help denominational leadership at all levels in the visioning, planning, and programming of the UMC.
