Steve Tracy is Distinguished University Professor at UMass Amherst and regularly teaches at Central China Normal University. He is the author, editor, co-editor, general co-editor, or introducer of thirty books. He has written over eighty book chapters and articles, fifty CD liner notes, and has lectured, taught, and presented at sixty conferences in Belgium, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands, and elsewhere. He was National Harmonica Champion ages 6–18 in 1971, appearing on the Johnny Carson Tonight Show and elsewhere, and opening act for B. B. King, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Canned Heat, and others.
