A fragment of one of the earliest German prose passion meditations, the anonymous Christi Leiden in einer Vision geschaut, has recently been discovered in a macaronic miscellany in Houghton Library. While the entire text has been edited in 1936 and 1952, the Houghton fragment contains significant variants that warrant further investigation. In addition to a study of the manuscript tradition of the Christi Leiden and this manuscript's place within it, we also present an edition of the Houghton version alongside a translation into modern English.
