Examining the Impact of a Criminology Doctoral Program on Successful Graduates

PAUL A. LUCAS earned his Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His areas of expertise are courts, problem-solving courts, program evaluation, and criminal justice policy. Dr. Lucas has experience working with a variety of different treatment courts across the United States and, in addition to other ongoing research projects, is currently the principal investigator for two federally funded program evaluations involving the Ellis County Felony Drug Court (KS) and the Forsyth County Veterans Treatment Court (NC).

CATHERINE D. MARCUM is the Department Chair and Professor of Justice Studies at Appalachian State University. She earned a Ph.D. in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her areas of teaching and research focus on correctional issues, cybercrime, and victimization, and very much enjoys working with students on research. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and 20 books in her fields.

GEORGE E. HIGGINS is a Professor in the Department of Justice Administration at the University of Louisville. He received his Ph.D. in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2001. His most recent publications appear or are forthcoming in Journal of Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice and Behavior, Justice Quarterly, Deviant Behavior, and Youth and Society.
