Abstract
In this paper we have attempted to analyze the ideology of the Legionary Movement by referring to the precursors of the Movement, namely Professor A.C. Cuza and AXA's ideologists, Mihail Polihroniade and Vasile Cristescu. One of the first political figures who expressed anti-Jewish sentiments and who gathered around a first core of anti-Semitic ideology was Professor A.C. Cuza, from the University of Iași. He was a fervent militant for the introduction in universities of a numerus clausus for Jews. In his opinion, there was no compatibility between the Romanian people and the Jews, and, consequently, the only option for Romanians to be an independent nation was to expel Jews from their territory. The same ideas were sustained by the most important ideologists of the Axa review.
Lucrarea de față își propune să analizeze ideologia Mișcării legionare cu referire directă la precursorul Mișcării, A. C. Cuza și la ideologiștii revistei AXA, Mihail Polihroniade și Vasile Cristescu. Profesorul A. C. Cuza, de la Universitatea din Iași, adună în jurul său simpatizanți antisemiți, mai ales studenți. Numerus clausus - acordarea unui număr limitat de locuri pentru evrei în școli și universități - devine un element forte și totodată un laitmotiv al discursurilor sale. Susține cu ardoare ideea incompatibilității între români și evrei, singura opțiune a românilor să fie o națiune independentă este să-i expulzeze pe evrei de pe teritoriul lor. Aceleași idei au fost propagate și de ideologii revistei AXA.
