Abstract
Medieval fortification always attracted many curios people, people fascinated by legends and mysteries. In Romania, especially in Transilvania, there are many fortresses, most of them unknown for common people. There are three types of fortresses: stone, wood and clay, most of them containing important components of defense against the enemies. It's essential to know that most of these fortified settlements were important and populated centers, with an intense economic life, who had seen a great development in the following centuries.
