Zóra Csalagovits's posters, reproduced with permission below, were intended to enhance the keynote addresses delivered at the European Association of Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) conference in Budapest. The artist's approach to drawing each poster was to highlight what was figural in each keynote presentation; her artistic interpretation reflected her own choices about what to call attention to. As she put it, the posters were her way of “taking graphic notes.” These graphic notes were made concomitantly, not only to complement and summarize the content of a given presentation, but also to offer a playful portrait of the speaker. Graphic notes help us to notice connections, to remember, and to process what we hear. We can imagine the posters as information maps. As finished products, the posters were exhibited for the duration of the conference, thereby keeping figural the content and atmosphere of the keynote deliveries.
