The four articles in this cluster of “Selected Proceedings from the European Association of Gestalt Therapy Conference (Budapest 2019)” were originally keynote addresses at that annual meeting. As implied in the conference title, “An Experiential Exploration. The Fertile Void and Creative Indifference,” a principal focus was on the ways in which Salomo Friedlaender's (2015) concepts of the fertile void, and of creative indifference, have impacted the development of Gestalt therapy theory. The articles are accompanied by four posters created by Zóra Csalagovits, which include the presenters' perspectives, main points of their presentations, and caricatures.
The title of Nancy Amendt-Lyon's article, “How Can a Void Be Fertile? Implications of Friedlaender's Creative Indifference for Gestalt Therapy Theory and Practice,” reflects its theme.
