Abstract

A framework consisting of both theory and practice is presented to guide group leaders in making effective interventions. A variety of time-limited groups including business, educational and therapy groups are discussed. Theory derived from Gestalt therapy and group development literature is outlined. Group leaders are encouraged to alternate interventions at the intrapersonal, interpersonal and group levels of process and to support a group's natural developmental tendencies.
