Julia Listengarten is a theatre scholar, director, dramaturg, and translator. She has worked professionally in New York City with various experimental theatre companies and is currently Professor of Theatre and Coordinator of Graduate Studies at the University of Central Florida. She is the author of Russian Tragifarce: Its Cultural and Political Roots (Susquehanna UP 2000) and co-editor of Theater of the Avant-Garde, 1950–2000 (Yale UP 2011) and Playing with Theory in Theatre Practice (Palgrave Macmillan 2012), and has contributed to many books and theatre periodicals.
