TYRONE GRIMA is a theatre practitioner and author. He has a first degree in French and Theatre Studies, a postgraduate from the University of Roehampton in Dramatherapy, and a Masters in Theatre. His doctorate is in Spirituality. Tyrone currently works as Senior Lecturer and Researcher at MCAST (Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology) in the department of the Performing Arts. His areas of specialization include queer theatre, the interface between theatre and spirituality, the Theatre of the Oppressed, and the multisensorial approach in theatre making. He also lectures part-time at the University of Malta. Tyrone has been directing theatre works on a regular basis ever since 2005. His latest directorial works for the theatre are the devised performance Għanqbut f’Moħħha and Jean Paul Sartre’s Bil-bieb mitbuq (No Exit). His latest directorial work (B’)Saħħtek, a devised performance on the theme of eating disorders, which was designed by his students at MCAST, won the National Art Award in the Category of Best Artistic Project in the Community.
