Abstract
Cook's Ancient Religions, Modern Politics is his most focused work yet covering basic themes in Islam, Hinduism, and Latin American Catholicism. The research is extremely thorough and provocative, leading Cook to the conclusion that fundamentalism is a natural fit for Islam, while not applicable to Hinduism, or useful as a description of Catholicism.
