Botteghe Oscure: Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell

Cristina Giorcelli is Professor Emerita of American Literature at the University of Rome Three. She has extensively written on nineteenth- and twentieth-century American authors (Poe, Fuller, James, Crane, Wharton, Cather, Williams, Zukofsky, Barthelmy, O’Hara and Levertov). She has published four multidisciplinary volumes on fashion, entitled Habits of Being (University of Minnesota Press, 2011–2015), co-edited with Paula Rabinowitz. She has been Vice-President of the European Association for American Studies from 1994 to 2002. She recently published a book on the US sections of the journal at the center of this article, entitled <<Botteghe Oscure>> e la letteratura statunitense (Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura, 2021).
