Robert W. Yarbrough is professor of New Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO, co-editor (with Robert H. Stein) of the Baker Exegetical New Testament Commentary series (Baker Academic), and co-author (with Walter A. Elwell) of Encountering the New Testament (Baker Academic, 1998, 2005, 2013). The Pillar New Testament Commentary series is designed “for serious pastors and teachers of the Bible”; the aim of the series seeks “above all to make clear the text of Scripture as we have it” (editor’s preface, p. xiii). Following a brief author’s preface (pp. xv–xvii) and list of abbreviations (pp. xix–xxii), Yarbrough provides a 14-page bibliography (pp. xxiii–xxxvi) and offers a lengthy introduction (pp. 1–90).
