It is a well-researched attempt to bring a new angle of vision to the question of the use of the OT within the NT by applying insights from the field of translation studies to the formulaic quotations in the first two chapters of the Gospel of Matthew. It is to apply the interpretive tools of translation criticism to the analysis of uses of the OT within the NT.
