Ayn Rand and Rape

susan love brown, email: [email protected], is professor of anthropology at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Boca Raton, and received her Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of California, San Diego. She is a political and psychological anthropologist, specializing in the Caribbean and the United States in the areas of cultural theory, social evolution, gender, ethnicity, individualist anarchism, and the study of intentional communities. She is the former director of the Public Intellectuals Program, the Ph.D. in Comparative Studies, and she is a faculty associate of the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program at FAU and has taught Gender and Culture for the last 20 years. She has written a number of articles and book chapters about gender and sexuality in Ayn Rand's novels, and she is the editor of Intentional Community: An Anthropological Perspective (SUNY, 2002). She is currently working on a full-length study of Ayn Rand and gender.
