In the history of The Arthur Miller Journal, we have published three special issues devoted to single topics: a double issue in 2012 marked the sixtieth anniversary of the Broadway premiere of The Crucible, a second double issue in 2014 noted the fiftieth anniversary of the Broadway premiere of After the Fall, and the autumn 2015 issue featured commentary from Miller scholars, playwrights, theater critics, and theater professionals as we celebrated the centenary of Miller's birth.

This special issue marks a first as we enter our sixteenth year of publication: a Festschrift honoring the career of the literary critic, novelist, and biographer Christopher Bigsby, who is now Professor Emeritus of American Studies at the University of East Anglia, in Norwich, England.
