As the story goes, when my former theater professor was a graduate student at the University of Utah in the 1980s, he used to visit the home of actress Grace McGrath (she went by her maiden name Coppin during her Broadway and film career that spanned the 1930s to 1950s), who was married to Byron McGrath, an actor who held a post at the university. When her husband passed, Ms. McGrath regularly held salons and, according to my professor (who also did lawn work for the actress), regaled her guests with her tales of working with “Arty” Miller and Tennessee Williams:

We thought she was full of hooey because, of course, there was no Google to confirm anything…. One day—maybe 1984?—she said she wasn't feeling well and was going upstairs to have a lie down, but was expecting a guest. Gadge would be dropping by. I knew nothing about anyone...
