Kate Jenckes is Professor of Spanish at the University of Michigan. She is the author of Witnessing Beyond the Human: Addressing the Alterity of the Other in Post-Coup Chile and Argentina (SUNY Press, 2017) and Reading Borges After Benjamin: Allegory, Afterlife, and the Writing of History (SUNY Press, 2007). She is currently working on a project that examines artistic interventions into questions of knowledge, perception, and communication as manifested in news media.
