Matthias Fritsch is Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University, Montréal. He is the author of The Promise of Memory: History and Politics in Marx, Benjamin, and Derrida (SUNY Press, 2005) and Taking Turns with the Earth: Phenomenology, Deconstruction, and Intergenerational Justice (Stanford University Press, 2018). He coedited Reason and Emancipation (Humanity Books, 2007) and Eco-Deconstruction: Derrida and Environmental Philosophy (Fordham University Press, 2018). He has published a range of articles and translated such authors as Heidegger, Gadamer, and Habermas into English. He has been a Humboldt Fellow in Frankfurt and a Visiting Research Professor in Kyoto.
